Picture Day
My ex-husband is a really amazing photographer. He's always been a a really good one, but the past few years he's dedicated a lot of time to it and gotten professional equipment (and training) and now he takes pictures that will absolutely take your breath away. So, when he asked if the kids and I would model for him this weekend, I was all like hell yeah cause a) I have no pictures of me with my/our kids and I knew his pictures would totally capture our personalities, b) my parents would so love to have these for Christmas, c) I like to say I "modeled" cause it makes me feel all young and skinny and d) I like hanging out with him because he makes me laugh and makes really good pork chops. The pictures turned out way better than anything I could've imagined and I thought there were way too awesome to keep to myself. Yes, it is your lucky day, because I chose to share them with all y'all. So, drum roll, please:

If you want to see even more of his stuff (and you totally do, trust me because he has some super cool, creative pictures on his website), click here. If you're local and you likey, if you ask real nice, he'll hook you up, too. I'll also add his link to my blogroll cause, well, cause it's my blog and he used to be my husband, so I can.

18 Talk to Me:
That middle one of your daughter has country music star written all over it.
and are those caps? gorgeous. your teeth are blinding!
The second one is the one they'll put in your book jacket. Or it'll be the publicity shot for when Grace gets all famous, so her managers can show what a nice, happy, well-rounded upbringing and fabulous mother she had.
He's a very good photographer :o)
Great Shots! But more importantly, it's really heart-warming to see someone speaking kindly of their ex, though I'll bet that hasn't always been the case. Lucky kids, they look like you!
beautiful family!
GORGEOUS!!!
You are a genius. I need to have a kid hugging me in every photo I take! It would totally hide the muffin top that keeps expanding above my jeans! Although you keep talking about being chubby and you look skinny! Liar, Liar, pants on fire.
These pictures are great!
Scribbler: She could so be one, too. I swear, if she does become famous, that will be her genre.
I laughed about the caps thing. No, no caps. I do have really white teeth, but that lipstick makes them even whiter and I'm thinking Photoshop may have been involved as well.
Julia: You said I was a fabulous mom. That totally made my day! Thanks! I didn't even think about the book jacket or publicity shot thing until I read your comment and I was all like, "Yeah. Totally."
Cambridge Lady: Thanks! He has some really cool stuff on his website.
Will Burke: Thanks! Yeah, you're so totally right about us not being able to say anything nice about-or to-each other for about two years. Then we got over and now we have a great relationship. Not sure what finally made us wake up. We just did.
Anonymous: Thanks!
Aunt Crazy: Thanks!!
Michelle: Girl, he was totally strategically placed ;0). Thanks for saying I look skinny. I've lost like 10 pounds, but I'm still nowhere as thin as I was last year at this time and I have about 12 pounds left to go.
GunDiva: Thanks! We're going to do some more some time later and I can't wait cause it's actually kind of fun!
I LOVE taking photos! His website is amazing. I am trying to get started down here in prisonville... I mean Huntsville but it seems like everyone would rather be cheap and go to WalMart. You can't get that kind of stuff at WalMart people! I would love to know how he got started. I have a website, business cards, and the AWESOME BAD ASS camera.
The last one is my favorite. Your daughter's eyes look amazing in it. He did a great job on all of them though! I know I've probably asked before, but what part of TX are you from? I'm near SA.
looking good!
These pics are wonderful! It also confirms my suspicions that you are very easy to have a crush on!
Great pictures! And please stop saying you are fat! You look fabulous in the photo's and remember, the camera is suppose to add 10 pounds, so see, you are REALLY skinny! Beautiful children, too, Candace!
I see a new profile pic in the future! Beautiful pics!
Love them!
CAW: I am jealous of you and him, because I can't take a picture to save my damn life. He just changed his website and it's really awesome now. You know, I'm not totally sure how he got started. He's always done it as a hobby, but he signed up for some class that meets online like once every few weeks where they critique each other's work and learn new techniques. He's gotten quite a few new clients from his website and just word of mouth because we live in a pretty small area. He also takes lots of practice shots on friends and stuff and they show them to their friends and family who then get interested, etc. I wish I knew more, but with anything he does, it seems like he just decides to do it, sets his mind to it and makes it happen. It's kind of awesome-and annoying but only because I don't possess that ability.
Foursons: Thanks! That one is my fave, too! It's the only pic we've ever had like that. We're up around Denton, which is about 45 minutes from the OK border.
Todd: Thanks!!
T.H.: Thanks! Yeah, they may look all cute, but I'm still a pain in the ass ;0).
Judy: Thanks, Girl!! I'm finally starting to lose this weight and I have a fitness room at my apartments, which is lovely, but my size 4 pants still laugh at me when I look at them in the closet.
Shawna: Oh yeah, Girl. Totally. He took one a few days ago that I may use for it. I'm not sure yet because I just changed my hair again and it's way cuter, so I might wait until he summons me to the garage (his stuido) again.
Kristen: Thanks!!
